  1. Administration

    The Administration Department is responsible for executing City Council action, encouraging development, ensuring positive communications, and maintaining a strong park system.

  2. Building

    The Building Inspections Division of the Fire Department is responsible for the application and enforcement of the building code and related ordinances regulating commercial and residential construction, alterations and the use of buildings within the city.

  3. Finance

    The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining accounting records and internal auditing for all City operations, processing of accounts payable and receivable, utility billing, debt service, risk management, payroll function, and preparation of the annual city budget.

  4. Public Works

    The Forest Lake Public Works is an integral link in the function of the City and is dedicated to operating, maintaining, and improving its infrastructure.

  5. Police

    The Police Department provides law enforcement and public safety services for residents, including traffic control, crime investigation, documentation, and prevention.

  6. Fire

    The mission of the Forest Lake Fire Department is to provide our protection area with a well trained professional organization, and to prevent or safely minimize the loss of life and property in fire and other emergencies at the highest level possible within the resources available.
