The annual spring hydrant flushing of the City's 700 fire hydrants is underway and will continue until completed. The hydrant flushing process clears out any possible debris that has accumulated in the mains and helps to prevent stagnant water. Hydrant flushing will take place Monday-Friday between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm. If the water appears discolored, do not be alarmed. It is recommended that you do not use the water for 2 hours, this will give it time to clear. After waiting, run your cold water faucet for about 5 minutes to verify the water has cleared. Your water service should not be interrupted. If you experience no water pressure, please call public works at 651-209-9730.
