Access to the north leg of eastbound Hwy 97 from Hwy 61 will close on Sat, June 11. The closure is needed so crews can finish the north roundabout.
Access there will reopen when school starts up again in the fall of 2016.
The Hwy 61 and Hwy 97 reconstruction work in Forest Lake is progressing nicely. Crews have really accomplished a lot this spring. You’ve probably noticed that the new look of the two intersections is beginning to take shape. This summer, we’ll continue to work on constructing the roundabouts, building the school driveway, reconstructing Hwy 97 and Hwy 61 and finishing up the pedestrian bridge and trails.
This $10.1 million project will improve traffic flow and safety as well as improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities in the area. For more information about the project, visit mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy61and97.
