[ARCHIVED] Ice Rinks Now Open

Hockey Skates

The City of Forest Lake ice rinks are open during winter months, weather permitting, and are flooded, swept and maintained by the Public Works Department. During warming house hours, the warming houses are open and attendants are on duty. Bring your own skates; rentals are not available at the outdoor rinks.

SEASON SCHEDULE:

Ice rinks will be open beginning December 15, 2017. The season will end when the ice is no longer suitable for skating.


RINK LOCATIONS & HOURS:

Tower Park – 843 SW 4th Street

  • Warming house, two hockey rinks, portable restroom and parking available.
  • Rink is available for skating from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm daily.  The rink has lights which turn on at dusk and off at 10:00 PM.
  • Warming House Hours: Friday 4:00 – 9:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday Noon – 6:00 PM

Beltz Park – 11th Ave. NW & 7th St. SW

  • Warming house, one pleasure rink, portable restroom and parking available.
  • Rink is available for skating from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm daily. The rink has lights which turn on at dusk and off at 10:00 PM.
  • Warming House Hours: Saturday and Sunday Noon – 6:00 PM

RINK CLOSURE POLICY:

For the safety of users and staff, ice rinks will be closed when the wind chill drops to minus 20 degrees, according to the weather report one hour before the scheduled opening. The warming house will reopen when the wind chill is warmer than minus 20 degrees.

City staff reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to close rinks at any time if the rink conditions are not safe and suitable for skating.
