Spring is here—time to scoop the poop! 🌱🐶💩
As the snow melts, don’t forget to pick up and properly dispose of dog waste in your yard and on walks. Dog poop isn’t just gross—it can carry harmful bacteria and parasites such as heartworm, whipworms, hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, parvovirus, giardia, salmonella and E. coli that linger in the soil for years! 🚫🦠
Pet waste on or near sidewalks and streets can also wash storm sewers and ditches that connect to our lakes and wetlands, contributing to algae blooms and making the water unsafe for swimming. Some cities have even had to close beaches due to contaminated runoff! 🌊⚠️
