Hockey Skates

The City of Forest Lake floods, sweeps and maintains three ice rinks during the winter.  During open hours, the warming houses are available and attendants are on duty.  Bring your own skates; rentals are not available at the outdoor rinks. 

Season Schedule: 

City ice rinks opened on Friday, December 14, 2018 and will remain open through the winter until the ice is no longer suitable for skating.

Rink Locations & Hours:

Tower Park: 843 SW 4th Street - Includes warming house, two hockey rinks, portable restroom and parking.

  • Lights are on a timer and will turn off at 10:00 PM.
  • Warming House Hours: 
    • Tuesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM
    • Wednesday 5:00 - 8:00 PM 
    • Friday 4:00 - 9:00 PM
    • Saturday and Sunday Noon - 6:00 PM

Beltz Park: 720 11th Avenue SE - Includes warming house, one pleasure rink, portable restroom and parking.

  • Lights are on a timer and will turn off at 10:00 PM.
  • Warming House Hours: 
    • Saturday and Sunday Noon - 6:00 PM.

Warming house hours subject to change.  Ice Rinks are open to the public for skating unless noted otherwise.

Ice Rink Closure: 

  • Ice rinks will be closed if the ice condition is not suitable for skating. 
  • Ice rinks will close when the wind chill drops to minus 10 degrees, according to the national weather report one hour prior to the scheduled opening.  The rinks will re-open when the wind chill is warmer than minus 10 degrees.

Ice Rink Reservations:

Ice rink reservations are now being accepted for 2019!  If you are interested in reserving rink time for your next practice or group event, please click here for the Ice Rink Reservation Form.  Completed forms should be sent to the City of Forest Lake for consideration.
